For me, August 1st feels like the indicator that summer is winding down and a new season is upon us. We’re less that two weeks out from the first day of school around here. My inner world feels like a mix of sadness that it’s almost over, anxious thoughts and wondering did we use our time well/have we done enough, and also some excitement that some quiet days are on the horizon.
It feels like a good time, for me at least, to let gratitude in. To look back at the summer for it’s good gifts (and God who gives them) and look forward to the next season with hope.
That’s what we’ll do for this month’s mini-retreat. As a reminder, mini-retreats are for paid subscribers, but you can upgrade your subscription below if you’re interested! I’m also linking to all previous retreat guides in case you missed one or if another topic speaks more to where you are now and what you need.
And may you encounter the God who loves you as you make space in your schedule and in your soul.
